Improved Eluemunor recruiting for Hogs

Razorback offensive line commitment Jermaine Eluemunor.

This time last year offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor was beginning his freshman season in junior college and his quest to get to the NFL. Now an Arkansas commitment, he sees an improved version of himself.

“I’m more aggressive, and I’m a lot more stronger,” Eluemunor said. “I think I put on 10 pounds of muscle, and I’m bigger than I was last year. I feel like I’m quicker.”

Eluemunor, 6-5 1/2, 315 pounds of Scranton (Pa.) Lackawanna Community College chose the Hogs over more than 20 scholarship offers including Alabama, Ohio State, Southern Cal, Florida State, UCLA, Texas A&M and Penn State. In his first three games this season, Eluemunor has graded out at 91 percent, 24 pancake blocks while allowing no sacks. 2013 video highlights click here

Arkansas recruited Eluemunor to play tackle, but he’s shown his versatility by playing guard.

“I was playing tackle but they said they needed me inside and asked me if I could move inside,” Eluemunor said. “That was fine because I know I can play anywhere, but I know left tackle is my spot.”

Despite his pledge, other schools are still trying to change his mind.

“There some schools still trying to recruit me,” he said. “Still trying to get me. Texas Tech, Oklahoma Arizona State and Miami Alabama still mails me stuff. They just ask me if I’ve watched their games and I say ‘Yeah’ but that’s about it really.”

Eluemunor is often seen on Twitter trying to recruit other top prospects to Fayetteville, including running back Tyreek Hill and receiver Johnnie Dixon.

“I’m just trying to help Arkansas get the best players possible,” Eluemunor said. “I’m trying to surround myself with playmakers, so Arkansas is most successful.”
