Anderson out with foot injury
Arkansas' Brian Anderson readies himself Sunday, March 31, 2013, during game three of the series against Mississippi State at Baum Stadium in Fayetteville.
FAYETTEVILLE Arkansas infielder Brian Anderson will miss the remainder of the Razorbacks' fall practices after suffering a stress fracture in his foot last Sunday.
Anderson, a junior, is expected to be ready for the start of Arkansas' season next February. The Deer Creek, Okla. native was the Razorbacks' leading batter last season with a .325 average, 4 home runs and 36 RBIs.
This fall, Anderson worked at second base after splitting time between third base and the outfield as a sophomore. He went 3-for-9 with 2 runs and 1 RBI in Arkansas' fall intrasquad games.
Anderson played for Hyannis Harbor in the wood bat Cape Cod League over the summer, batting .224 with 2 home runs and 10 RBIs. He is expected to be the Razorbacks' top draft prospect next spring.
