Pierce update

Highly recruited tight end Ravian Pierce has Arkansas No. 1 on his list but wants to take a couple more official visits, according to his Coach Steve Davis.

Pierce, 6-4, 230 pounds, 4.53 seconds in the 40-yard dash, Plantation (Fla.) High School recorded 63 receptions for 957 yards and 17 touchdowns as a junior. He has approximately 27 scholarship offers, including Alabama, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State and Ole Miss.

Defensive line coach Charlie Partridge, who's a graduate of Plantation High School, is Pierce's lead recruiter.

Coach Steve Davis said he and Ravian will meet on Monday and talk things over. Should know which schools Pierce wants to visit later in the week.

Pierce said his visit went great and he kind of didn't want to leave. He said he received mad love during his visit. He hung out with the team and felt like a part a team. He called the atmosphere at the game amazing and said he had chills running through his body.

Pierce said he learned more about how Arkansas uses the tight end. Freshman quarterback Damon Mitchell was one of his hosts.
