Bielema plays off slip and slide

Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema works with the team before the start of the Razorbacks' game against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights at High Point Solutions Stadium in Piscataway, N.J.

— Arkansas coach Bret Bielema knew he would soon be a YouTube sensation when he took a pregame tumble Saturday walking to Razorback Stadium.

Wearing a suit and tie, Bielema slipped and fell during "Hog Walk" from the team bus to the locker room. He wasn't the only victim on the wet pavement caused by heavy rains, as a pair of other Arkansas players fell, too.

"We will look into putting some kind of footing maybe," Bielema said. "I was just kind of walking along, enjoying my business. I think I showed my athleticism - a lesser athlete would have been down for the count.

"As soon as I got up and saw all those phones, I thought this is going to be an instant YouTube phenomenon, especially for the haters out there. I knew they would have some fun with that."

Bielema played off the fall well Saturday, smiling and giving a fist pump to the fans after picking himself up from the ground.

"I'm glad I didn't have any bleeps and I recovered well, I thought," he said. "My wife came home after the game and said, 'Did you fall?' I said, 'Yeah, let's not talk about it.'

"I think our players had some fun with it yesterday. Nobody said anything, but I think it was the elephant in the room."
