Kansas prospect hoping for Hog offer

Tight end Josh Moore will visit the Hogs on Saturday.

Tight end Josh Moore is hoping to add to his list of scholarship offers when he visits Arkansas on Saturday.

Moore, 6-5, 253, 4.79 seconds in the 40 yard dash of Olathe (Kan.) North currently holds scholarship offers from Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Texas Tech and TCU. He said he’s been talking to tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr..

“He said things are pretty good so far, but they want to get to know me first before they possibly offer,” Moore said. “They want to build a personal relationship.”

He had 13 receptions for 208 yards and 3 touchdowns as a sophomore and scored 4 touchdowns on about 28 receptions last year. He reports a 275 pound bench press and 415 squat. The SEC and a chance for early playing time attracts him to the Hogs.

“He told me I would have a chance to play early,” Moore said. “They put multiple tight ends on the field.”

Moore, who has a 28-inch vertical, is also an excellent defensive end and is a position he could play in college.

“Mostly tight end, though but some schools say it’s my choice,” he said. “Wherever I feel comfortable. Some schools just say defensive end.”

Moore’s video shows someone that likes to play with a nasty streak.

“You have to have a motor,” Moore said. “I was a little lazy my sophomore year and my coach told me if I wanted any offers I have a to have a better motor.”

When he’ll make his decision is up in the air.

“I’m not sure, possibly this summer,” Moore said. “If not this summer, I’ll probably decide after football.”
