— Freshman Blake Baxendale hit a first inning grand slam and finished with 5 RBIs as Arkansas beat No. 16 LSU 10-4 Sunday at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge, La.

The Razorbacks (22-15, 7-8 SEC) avoided the series sweep after losing 5-3 on Friday and 5-4 on a ninth inning single Saturday. Arkansas snapped a seven-game losing streak at LSU.

Baxendale's first career home run gave the Razorbacks a 4-0 lead. He added a RBI double and Eric Fisher followed with a two-run home run during a four-run fifth inning that extended Arkansas' lead to 9-2. Fisher hit three home runs during the series.

The Razorbacks' offense gave starting pitcher Chris Oliver the ability to work through some command issues. Oliver worked around seven walks and two hit batters in seven innings. He allowed four runs on four hits.

Freshman Zach Jackson pitched the final two innings for the Razorbacks, retiring all six batters he faced and striking out two.

LSU (27-9-1, 8-6-1 SEC) pulled within 4-2 on a two-run single by Jake Fraley in the second inning but never got any closer. Oliver gave up a run in the sixth and seventh innings. The Tigers stranded seven base runners.

Arkansas is scheduled to host Stephen F. Austin on Tuesday at 6:35 p.m.
