Thursday recruiting tidbits

Junior safety Jaylin Small is one of the more physically gifted in-state prospects.

Sophomore running back Kameron Martin of Port Arthur, (Texas) Port Arthur Memorial said he's hoping to visit Arkansas this summer after receiving an offer from the Hogs Tuesday.

Martin has about 20 offers and is one of the top 2016 prospects in Texas. Running backs coach Joel Thomas is his lead recruiter.

Former White Hall linebacker-running back Tim Cook, who's attending Eastern Arizona College picked up offers from Memphis, Utah and Arizona on Wednesday.

Sophomore guard Deshawn Williams, 6-1, 163 pounds of Prime Prep in Dallas reports offers from Connecticut and Colorado while drawing strong interest from Arkansas. He previously played at Maumelle before moving to Dallas in the fall.

He'll play for the Arkansas Hawks in this weekend's Real Deal in the Rock.

Sophomore guard Lawson Korita, 6-3, 180 pounds of Pulaski Academy is also drawing strong interest from the Hogs and will play for the Arkansas Wings Elite.

He averaged about 27 points a game for the Bruins this past season and was named to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Super Sophomore team. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Arkansas running backs coach Joel Thomas visited Nettleton on Wednesday to check on safety Jaylin Small, who plans to attend the Hogs' June camp.

Small 6-0, 180 is also drawing interest from Arkansas State, Memphis and Troy. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Highly recruited offensive lineman Gabe Megginson of Jacksonville, Illinois said he will visit Arkansas on Saturday. He has more than 20 offers, including one from the Hogs. Highlight video CLICK HERE

Tennessee defeated Arkansas 81-78 in the Mike Conley Jr. Classic at Little Rock Hall tonight.

Guard Daryl Macon led Arkansas with 25.

Forward Trey Thompson had 16 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists,1 steal and a block.

Guard Nick Babb had 9 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.

Point guard Kahron Ross scored 10.

Illinois running back coach Alex Golesh will visit North Little Rock to check on athlete D.J. Brown Monday morning and will watch him workout later in the day.

Running back Javarius Davis of Jacksonville, (Fla.) Ed Davis spoke to Arkansas running backs coach Joel Thomas tonight. The Hogs will visit his school later during the spring evaluation.
