Bentonville's Malik Monk is the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette's Sophomore of the Year for 2014.

Bentonville sophomore guard Malik Monk set a new Nike Elite Youth Basketball single game scoring record with 59 points on Sunday while playing for the Arkansas Wings. He hit 10 of 16 three-pointers. Box score CLICK HERE

Running back Chris Warren III of Rockwall said the highlight of his visit to Arkansas on Saturday was learning about some new majors. He learn about Nanoscience and poultry science.

He said Arkansas' offense would be great for him. He wants to watch the Hogs this season and see how successful they are. Plans to narrow his list of 18 offers down to five at the end of the summer and take official visits to those schools.

Arkansas running back signee Juan Day has been cleared for for all activities with a knew brace. He had ACL surgery on Oct. 18.

Running back Karan Higdon of Sarasota, (Fla.) Riverview said he's talking to running backs coach Joel Thomas about visiting the Hogs in June. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Offensive lineman Shane Lemieux of Yakima, Washington said running backs coach Joel Thomas will visit his school on May 14. He said he and Thomas talk almost every night. Video highlights CLICK HERE

North Little Rock sophomore receiver Tobias Enlow was named the Dallas Region WR MVP VITO Elite100 today.

Pulaski Robinson defensive end Marcus Devine, 6-1 215 and defensive end Hunter Hudson, 6-5, 200 were both in top five of their groups at VTO Elite100. Linebacker Blake Burks, 6-2 185 and safety Tonda Bullock, 6-2 180 were also in top 5 of their groups at VTO Elite100.

Pine Bluff tight end Will Gragg received an offer from Oregon State on Sunday. His now has 37 offers.

Malik Monk is the second leading scorer in the Nike EYBL with a 26.2 average.

Guard King McClure of Triple A Academy in Dallas will announce his college decision on Tuesday, according to his father LeRoy.

McClure, 6-31/2, 208 is rated the No. 59 prospect in the nation by ESPN. He will choose from Arkansas, Baylor, Kansas, SMU or UCLA.

McClure will announce his decision at 8:30 am at the school.

Former White Hall linebacker and fullback Tim Cook has received an offer from South Alabama.
