Offensive lineman Zach Rogers became the second prospect in the 2015 class to sign an athletic financial aid agreement with Arkansas on Thursday and expects to enroll in January.

Rogers, 6-2, 295, 5.06 seconds in the 40 yard dash of Carrollton, Texas, Hebron pledged to the Hogs July 6 of last summer over scholarship offers from Texas, Oklahoma, Baylor, Texas Tech and UCLA.

High school prospects who are on track to graduate at mid-term are eligible to sign the agreement.

“It was definitely a cool experience,” Rogers said of his signing during a ceremony at his school. “It’s not a national letter of intent but it’s my national letter of intent. I’m pretty excited about it. I think it will be awesome to be up there in January. “

The agreement allows unlimited communication between Rogers and the Arkansas coaches. It binds the school to the student-athlete but not the prospect to the school.

National recruiting analyst Tom Lemming of CBS Sports Network rates him a four-star prospect. Coach Bret Bielema was happy to have Rogers on board.

”I am very excited to have Zach joining the Razorbacks in January,” Bielema said. “We think he is one of the best offensive linemen in the class of 2015 and shows the mental and physical toughness that we expect our linemen to exhibit on and off the field. Zach continues to demonstrate all of the things that we hold to a higher standard here at Arkansas. Academics, athletic success and social behavior are the backbone of what becoming a Hog is all about and he will be a great addition to our family. Our #TexHogs are continuing to grow and we hope to add more with the rest of the 2015 class.”

Charleston quarterback Ty Storey signed an athletic financial aid agreement on Saturday.
