Notes from Arkansas football media day

Arkansas cornerbacks Tevin Mitchel (23) and Carroll Washington (21) run drills during practice Thursday afternoon in Fayetteville.

— Arkansas held its annual media day Sunday afternoon. Following the Razorbacks' first scrimmage of the preseason, head coach Bret Bielema made some changes to the team's depth chart. Below are some notable changes:

-Cornerback Tevin Mitchel has been cleared to return to contact following an off-season shoulder surgery. Mitchel wore a green, no-contact jersey during the first week of practice and sat out the Razorbacks' scrimmage on Saturday.

-Bielema said Carroll Washington is the team's best cornerback right now.

-Running back Jonathan Williams might miss a couple of practices after suffering a hamstring injury Saturday.

-Running back Alex Collins will return to practice Monday after missing Saturday's scrimmage with a groin injury.

-Taiwan Johnson has replaced DeMarcus Hodge at first-team nose guard. Hodge has been moved to second-team defensive tackle behind Darius Philon. Freshman Bijhon Jackson will work as the Razorbacks' second-team nose guard.

-Daunte Carr and Braylon Mitchell are both being listed as first-team at one of the outside linebacker positions. Carr played the majority of Saturday's scrimmage after Mitchell left because of a heat-related injury.

-Freshman linebacker Randy Ramsey will work as second-team at the other outside linebacker position behind Martrell Spaight.

-Cornerback Henre Toliver has been moved into a tie for the first-team spot at one of the cornerback positions with Jared Collins.

-Grady Ollison has been moved from offensive tackle to the defensive line. Brian Wallace has been moved to second-team right tackle because of Ollison's position change.

-Bielema said Wallace and center Frank Ragnow are freshmen who will play this year along the offensive line.

-Cameron Jefferson will get some work at left tackle in addition to left guard.
