FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr. has been cleared to return to full contact and should be able to play in the Razorbacks' season-opener at Auburn on Saturday.
Wise suffered a knee sprain during a practice earlier this month. He is listed as one of Arkansas' first-team defensive ends along with JaMichael Winston.
Bret Bielema - Auburn Preview
Watch VideoWise was one of the Razorbacks' standouts on defense in spring practice and early preseason scrimmages. He recorded 17 tackles and 2 sacks last season as a redshirt freshman.
Arkansas coach Bret Bielema said cornerback Tevin Mitchel, who underwent off-season shoulder surgery, has also been cleared for full contact after wearing a green, no-contact jersey for much of the preseason. Mitchel, a three-year starter, is listed as a second-team cornerback behind Carroll Washington.
