Hogs offer in-state prospect

White Hall tight end-defensive end Daniel Sprinkle has received a scholarship offer from the Hogs.

Sprinkle, 6-4, 225 pounds recorded 4.6 seconds in the 40 yard dash at the Arkansas during the three day camp in June. He also had a 4.23 pro-shuttle time at the camp. Video highlights CLICK HERE

He and his parents attend the Aug. 16 scrimmage. They met with Coach Bret Bielema on Sunday after the scrimmage and was told of the offer.

He had 24 receptions for 399 yards along with 71 tackles, 6 sacks and 14 tackles for loss as a junior. He's being recruited as an athlete.

Sprinkle arrived at Auburn this morning for an official visit for baseball.

Sprinkle said the offer is to walk-on for two years and then on scholarship after that. He said Bielema told him he could be put on a full scholarship at anytime.

He has baseball offers from Auburn, Arkansas State, UALR and several others. Hog baseball coach Dave Van Horn is also showing interest.

Sprinkle has a football offer from UCA. He said Auburn assistant coach Tim Horton wants to talk to him during his visit.
