Second preseason award for Anderson

Arkansas' Brian Anderson readies himself Sunday, March 31, 2013, during game three of the series against Mississippi State at Baum Stadium in Fayetteville.

— Arkansas infielder Brian Anderson added another preseason all-American honor to his credit Monday.

The junior was named to Baseball America's preseason second-team all-America. He had been named a second-team all-American by Perfect Game USA last month.

Anderson is the Razorbacks' best returning hitter, statistically. He batted .325 last year with a team-best 68 hits and 47 runs scored. Anderson also had 4 home runs and 36 RBIs.

The Deer Creek, Okla. native is expected to be Arkansas' starting second baseman this season after playing third base and in the outfield last year. The Razorbacks are scheduled to open the 2014 season next Friday against Appalachian State.
