Monday recruiting tidbits

Arkansas offensive line coach Sam Pittman helps kids work on their blocking skills during the University of Arkansas Youth Football Camp at the University of Arkansas.

Offensive lineman Tyler Carr, 6-5, 320, 5.2 of Southside, Alabama is looking to visit Arkansas in May or June. He received an offer from the Hogs after he called offensive line coach Sam Pittman on Saturday. He said Pittman plans to come to his school twice during the spring evaluation period.

He said he and graduate assistant Eric Mateos have been communicating by direct messages on Twitter for months and that's helped his interest in Arkansas.

In addition to the Razorbacks, he reports offers from Alabama, Auburn, Penn State and Vanderbilt.

Carr, who has recorded a 4.65 in the pro-shuttle, said his father played rugby at Auburn, but he'll attend the school that best fits him.

Five in-state prospects plan to join the Arkansas program as preferred walk-ons.

Arkansas tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. visited Nettleton High School to check on safety Jaylin Small, 6-0, 185 about two weeks ago. He recorded 80 tackles, 2 interceptions, 5 pass deflections, a forced fumble and a recovered fumble this past season

Defensive end Daytrieon Dean of Fort Smith Northside is planning to visit Arkansas and Memphis in the near future.

Receiver Jaelan Austin of Grand Prairie, Texas said he plans to call Arkansas to set up a March visit. He holds offers from Arkansas and numerous other schools.

Arkansas quarterback commitment Ty Storey of Charleston said he'll visit the Hogs on March 1. He said he's recruiting North Little Rock receiver K.J. Hill and tight end Will Gragg of Pine Bluff.

Defensive end commitment JaMario Bell of Junction City plans to visit Fayetteville on Feb. 22.

Hog offensive tackle commitment Colton Jackson of Conway plans to visit Arkansas on March 1.

Athlete Dre Greenlaw plans to remain in Fayetteville and play for the Bulldogs next season. His foster parent Brian Early is now an assistant coach at Arkansas State after being a quality control assistant at Arkansas this past season. The Red Wolves recently offered him.

Defensive tackle Quentez Johnson, 6-4, 320, 5.2 of Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove said he'll most likely visit Arkansas for their spring game.

Running back Ronald Jones, 6-0, 185 pounds, 4.41 seconds in the 40-yard dash, said he will either visit Arkansas on Feb. 22 or March 1. He has 14 offers, including Arkansas. Video highlights CLICK HERE
