Arkansas tailback Alex Collins and tight end Hunter Henry were named Monday to the freshman All-America team selected by the Football Writers Association of America.

The team was selected by a 10-member panel and released in conjunction with FWAA activities related to Monday night’s BCS Championship Game.

Collins, who rushed for 1,026 yards to lead the nation’s freshmen, and Henry, who had 28 receptions for409 yards and 4 touchdowns, joined three other SEC players on the 28-man team. Auburn offensive lineman Alex Kozan, Vanderbilt offensive lineman Andrew Jelks and Florida cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III were also selected to the team. Auburn Coach Gus Malzahn, a Fort Smith native, was the panel’s choice as national coach of the year.
