Swanson, Flowers earn awards

— Arkansas center Travis Swanson and defensive end Trey Flowers were named the winners of the inaugural Willie Roaf and Dan Hampton awards on Friday by the Little Rock Touchdown Club.

The awards, given to the most outstanding college offensive and defensive linemen in Arkansas, will be presented at the club’s annual awards banquet Feb. 13 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Little Rock.

El Dorado defensive tackle Bijhon Jackson and Springdale Har-Ber offensive tackle Isaac Johnson were the high school-level recipients of the new award.

Former Arkansas coach and current ESPN analyst Lou Holtz will serve as keynote speaker for the banquet. Special guests include Roaf, the Pro Football Hall of Famer from Pine Bluff, who will present his award, and Cliff Harris, who will present the inaugural Cliff Harris Award to cornerback Pierre Desir of Lindenwood College.
