Sophomore RB looking forward to visit

RB Tre' Turner has an offer from the Hogs.

Arkansas receivers coach Michael Smith and the Hog offense has sophomore running back Tre‘ Turner ready to visit Fayetteville.

“I am going to try to make junior day or spring game depending on my varsity baseball schedule,” Turner said. “I can't wait to get up there.”

“He is very cool,” said Turner of Smith. “He is from New Orleans and he can relate to me. I only called him a few times, but we talk about New Orleans area high school football.”

Turner, who rushed 107 times for 709 yards and 7 touchdowns this past season, plays centerfield and some second base for his school’s baseball team. His outstanding speed helps in base stealing.

“Haven't been thrown out in four years,” he said.

Turner described his running style.

“I am a patient runner,” he said. “I use my vision to find open space. One cut and explode. Don’t like all the dancing.”

A member of the National Honor Society, Turner has a 3.7 grade point average and planning to study Pre-med and eventually become a Pediatrician. Arkansas’ offense helps his interest

“From what I see they try to get speed players in space to make plays,” Turner said.

When asked about his season statistics, Turner is clueless.

“I really don't,” he said. “People laugh when I tell them that.”
