Tuesday recruiting tidbits

Razorback Recruit Kenny young

Highly recruited linebacker Kenny Young will officially visit Arkansas Wednesday to Friday.

Young, 6-2, 220, 4.6 of River Ridge, (La.) Curtis played in the U.S. Army All American game and is also a USA Today All American. Receivers coach Michael Smith and linebackers coach Randy Shannon are recruiting Young.

Linebacker Sharieff Rhaheed of Fort Pierce, Fla. said he expects Arkansas to visit him next week. Reports have him down to the Hogs and Missouri.

9:25 update

Sharieff said while the Hogs and Tigers are his top two, he's still looking. He will officially visit Michigan State this weekend.

Cornerbacks coach Taver Johnson is expected to visit Miami Gulliver Prep this afternoon to see cornerback Cornelius Floyd.

Defensive line and specialists coach Rory Segrest visited Springdale High School last week to check on punter Sam Kennedy, who has been invited to walk-on at Arkansas.

Segrest and tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. are expected to visit Hope on Thursday to check on defensive end McTelvin Agim, who was named the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Sophomore Defensive Player of the Year.

Lunney and Segrest are expected to visit Camden Fairview on Thursday to check on several juniors, tight end/receiver Jonathan Walker, defensive lineman Justin McCoy, running back/receiver Cornelius Page and defensive back Byron Keaton.

Offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Jim Chaney visited the school of highly recruit junior tight end Hale Hentges on Monday. Chaney watched the Hentges during basketball practice.

Hentges, 6-4, 225, 4.83 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Jefferson City (Mo.) Helias is closing in on 20 scholarship offers, including Arkansas, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Missouri, Iowa, Iowa State, Nebraska, Indiana and Tennessee. He's visited the Hogs three times and has plans to visit again in the near future.

Arkansas is expected to visit offensive line commitment Jovan Pruitt of Dallas Bishop Dunne at his school on Thursday.

As reported on Monday evening, Pine Bluff junior tight end Will Gragg received an offer from Tennessee. He now has six, Arkansas, Alabama, Ole Miss, Louisville and Vanderbilt.

Arkansas Coach Bret Bielema and linebackers coach Randy Shannon did an in-home visit with receiver Jojo Robinson of Miami Northwestern on Monday. His father said Jojo is excited about this weekend's visit. His mother will accompany him.

Bielema and Segrest visited the school of kicker commitment Cole Hedlund of Argyle, Texas and made an in-home visit from 4 to 6 this evening. He the visit went great and he thinks Segrest is a great guy and he really looks forward to working with him

Alabama visited Nashville High School to check on junior receiver La'Michael Pettway. It appears Ohio State may visit the school in the near future. Miss. St., Auburn and Vanderbilt are also showing interest.

Pettway will visit either Alabama or Ole Miss on Feb. 1 and the other school on March 1.

Receiver Kendrick Edwards of Miami Norland tweeted that three Arkansas coaches visited with him and his mother today.

Linebacker Kenny Young of River Ridge, (La.) Curtis will arrive in Fayetteville at about 10:30 pm on Wednesday. Hearing his parents will also make the trip.

At this time, it doesn't appear Arkansas will bring in linebacker Tyler Hayes of Butler Community College in for an official visit.
