Junior defensive lineman Quentez Johnson, 6-4, 320, 5.2 of Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove said Wednesday evening on Twitter he was favoring Arkansas despite not having an offer from the Hogs. Michigan State and Mississippi State have recently extended offers.
Cornerbacks coach Taver Johnson is his lead recruiter.
Dollarway athlete Josh Liddell said Arkansas tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. did an in-home visit on Wednesday night.
Highly recruited linebacker Kenny Young of River Ridge, (La.) Curtis and his parents were greeted by some Razorback fans as they exited the Northwest Arkansas Airport late Wednesday night to begin an official visit. He's expected to leave Friday night.
Junior guard King McClure of Triple A Academy is averaging 21.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 17 games. He's a major target of Arkansas.
Arkansas tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr and defensive line and specialists coach Rory Segrest visited Hope this morning to check on sophomore defensive lineman McTelvin Agim and offensive lineman Kaderious Rowe.
Rowe has grown two inches since the beginning of the season and is now 6-3 and about 320.
The two along with Coach Bret Bielema are expected to do an in-home visit with defensive line commit Bijhon Jackson of El Dorado this afternoon.
Lunney is expected to visit with Parkers Chapel offensive lineman Will Jones tonight. Jones is committed to UCA but the Hogs want him to be a preferred walk-on.
Lunney and Segrest left Camden Fairview about noon after checking on several juniors, tight end/receiver Jonathan Walker, defensive lineman Justin McCoy, running back/receiver Cornelius Page and defensive back Byron Keaton.
After meeting Segrest for the first time, Coach Buck James came away impressed.
"Seemed like a good guy" James said. "Very personable. Looks like a another good hire."
Offensive line coach Sam Pittman visited Dallas Bishop Dunne today to check on offensive line commitment Jovan Pruitt.
Arkansas running backs coach Joel Thomas visited Pulaski Academy on Monday to check on running back Tyler Colquitt, who's committed to UCA. The Hogs are wanting Colquitt to walk on and earn a scholarship.
Coach Bret Bielema and Lunney visited Warren last week to check on junior receivers Jaylon Marshall and Darveon Brown.
Pittman visited Carrollton, (Texas) Hebron today to check on 2015 commitment Zach Rogers. Rogers and his parents will visit Arkansas again on Feb. 14.
North Little Rock junior receiver K.J. Hill is now drawing interest from Alabama, Florida State and LSU. He'll visit the Crimson Tide on Feb. 1 and an offer appears to be a good possibility.
Arkansas is expecting seven or eight official visitors this weekend.
