Wednesday recruiting tidbits

Defensive lineman McTelvin Agim of Hope is one of the top 2016 prospects in the state.

Arkansas tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. called Hope Coach Jay Turley this morning and extended an offer to sophomore defensive end McTelvin Agim. The Hogs were the first to offer. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Baylor visited today to check on Agim and offensive lineman Kaderious Rowe. The Bears extended an offer to Agim. Clemson also called this week to inquire on Agim and Rowe.

Arkansas offensive coordinator Jim Chaney visited Shreveport Evangel on Tuesday to see defensive back commitment Santos Ramirez and check on some underclassmen.

As reported earlier, recruited offensive lineman Frank Ragnow will announce is decision at 3:15 on Friday. Follow the school's Twitter at @chanstormAD for the announcement.

Tight ends Barry Lunney Jr. visited Pine Bluff Tuesday morning. He also attended a Zebra's basketball game last week to watch junior tight end Will Gragg.

Hope Coach Jay Turley said Agim was thrilled to get the Arkansas offer and later the Baylor offer this morning. He said the Hogs have been one of Agim's favorites from the beginning because they were the first to show interest.

Turley said Arkansas probably would've offered earlier but the departure of Charlie Partridge slow down the process. The Razorbacks wanted to give defensive line coach Rory Segrest an opportunity to check out Agim before extending the offer.

He doesn't anticipate Agim making an early decision.

Tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. talked to Rogers linebacker Zack Wary on Monday. Tulsa did an in-home visit on Tuesday. Wake Forest and Boise State are expected to make in-home visits on Thursday. He and his parents officially visited Wake Forest over the weekend and will visit Boise State this weekend.There's been talks about another possible in-home visit from Arkansas. Indiana has also extended an offer.

As of now, defensive lineman Breeland Speaks of Jackson, (Ms.) Callaway, athlete Gary Cross of Fordyce along with one or two walk on prospects are expected to visit Arkansas this weekend. There's also another prospect who might visit. The list is very tentative.

Arkansas would not sign Cross, but would place him at a junior college.

Pine Bluff junior tight end Will Gragg reports receiving an offer from LSU today. He tweeted earlier that he would visit Alabama this weekend.

According to a source, Arkansas appears to be in very good shape with offensive lineman Andrew Mike of Tucson, (Ariz.) Sabino unless he decides to take another official visit this weekend. Offensive line coach Sam Pittman visited Mike on Tuesday.
