Thursday recruiting tidbits

Bret Bielema will announce his second signing class in less than two weeks.

Manny Navarro of the Miami Herald reported on Wednesday night that Miami was starting to show interest in Arkansas linebacker commitment Randy Ramsey.

Ft. Lauderdale Dillard Coach Lorenzo Davis said he did not know whether or not Ramsey would visit the Hurricanes this weekend. Two sources familiar with the Miami program have different opinions if the Hurricanes have room for Ramsey. One said yes while the other doubted it.

Warren junior receiver Darveon Brown tweeted Feb. 22 to tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. Most likely indicating he'll visit on that date.

Lunney and Memphis assistant coach James Shibest visited Little Rock Catholic on Wednesday to check on junior athlete D.J. Brown and others. Brown has been invited to visit the Hogs on Feb. 22 and Memphis on March 1.

Sophomore receiver Jordan Jones, 6-2, 180, 4.45 of Smackover is one to watch for the 2016 class. He has a chance to receive several major college offers. Lunney recently visited the school. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Johnson, 6-4, 320, 5.2 of Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove is favoring Arkansas despite not having an offer from the Hogs.He plans to visit the Hogs in the coming months.

He has offers from Michigan State, South Florida, North Carolina State, Georgia State and Mississippi State. Cornerbacks coach Taver Johnson visited his school this week.

Offensive lineman Andrew Mike of Tucson, (Ariz.) Sabino will announce his college decision on Monday, according to Richard Obert of the Arizona Republic. He'll choose from Arkansas, Florida, Vanderbilt or Penn St.

Mike will officially visit Vanderbilt this weekend. Obert reports Mike has visited Penn. St twice on on unofficial visits under the old coaching staff.

Joseph Robinson, the father of receiver Jojo Robinson, said linebackers coach Randy Shannon made an in-home visit Wednesday night. He said Jojo did not visit Auburn during the week but will wrap up his visits with one to TCU this weekend.

Outside linebacker Quarte Sapp of Alpharetta, (Ga.) Milton said cornerbacks coach Taver Johnson extended him an offer, his 11th. He said it's likely he'll visit Fayetteville on Feb. 22.

Rogers linebacker Zack Wary has committed to Wake Forest, according to his father.

Coach Bret Bielema and tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. are expected to visit Highland High School Friday morning. They will check on junior athlete Avery Johnson and receiver Deon Stewart.

They are also expected to visit Jonesboro to check on sophomore running back Denzel Mitchell, who has an Arkansas offer.
