Friday recruiting updates

Arkansas coach Bret Bielema stands on the field prior to a Nov. 29, 2013 game against LSU at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, La.

This is the last weekend for colleges to host prospects before National Signing Day on Wednesday. Arkansas will now host two prospects this weekend, not three as expected.

Defensive lineman Breeland Speaks of Jackson, (Ms.) Callaway and athlete Gary Cross of Fordyce will arrive between three and five this afternoon.

Arkansas Coach Bret Bielema and tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. visited Highland High School for about for about an hour and a half this morning to check on junior prospects, receiver Deon Stewart and athlete Avery Johnson.

Bielema and Lunney were to visit Jonesboro after leaving Highland to check on sophomore running back Denzel Mitchell, who has an Arkansas offer.

A reminder that offensive lineman Frank Ragnow,6-6, 291, 5.0 seconds in the 40 yard dash of Victoria, Minnesota, Chanhassen will announce his college decision at about 3:15 today. He will pick from Arkansas, Minnesota or Florida State.

A text received this morning from a source who has midwest connections believes Ragnow will choose the Hogs. No guarantee, but the source feels very good about Arkansas' chances.

The school's athletic department is expected to tweet out his decision at @chanstormAD.

2:12 update

Bielema and Lunney just left Hope after checking on 2016 prospect, defensive end McTelvin Agim, who received an offer from the Hogs on Wednesday morning.

Junior offensive lineman Nick Polino of Buford, Ga. reported on Twitter that Arkansas had extended an offer. His first from a SEC school.

4:24 update

Athlete Gray Cross of Fordyce has arrived for his official visit.

Speaks will arrive about 6:45 tonight.
