Henry named to Mackey Award watch list

Arkansas tight end Hunter Henry makes a catch as he tries to shake Auburn defender Jake Holland during the second quarter of a Nov. 2, 2013 game at Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville.

— Hunter Henry was named to the John Mackey Award watch list Tuesday.

The Arkansas tight end caught 28 passes for 409 yards and four touchdowns as a freshman last season. He was second on the team in receptions and yards and tied for the team lead in touchdown receptions.

The 40-man watch list includes seven SEC tight ends. Henry is also one of only nine sophomores on the list.

The Mackey Award is annually given to the best tight end in college football. In 2010, D.J. Williams became the first Arkansas player to win the award.

Henry joins running backs Alex Collins and Jonathan Williams (Maxwell Award) and defensive end Trey Flowers (Bednarik Award) as Razorbacks on preseason award watch lists.
