A father of one of the defensive linemen is very aware of Coach Bret Bielema's career and is a big fan of his style of play. He said there is interest on their part. I'll stay in touch with the father and see what happens.

Destrehan, La. receiver Kirk Merritt, who won the SPARQ Championship last night with a 148.83 rating, said he has slight interest in Arkansas and a visit is a possibility. At this time it appears doubtful.

CB Holton Hill of Houston Lamar had a very good day during 1-on-1's on Monday. He has excellent athleticism that allows to blanket most of the receivers he went up against.

He and Equanimeous St. Brown, 6-5, 205 of Anaheim, Calif. had a great rep with both of them battling for the ball and it appeared Brown had caught the ball but Hill was able to strip the ball at the last second.

As reported on Monday, he's looking to visit the Hogs this month.

Receiver Donte' Jackson,5-11, 170 of New Orleans Riverdale said the Hogs are still in the running for a visit. He plans to take official visits to Oregon, LSU and Georgia. He said Arkansas has a shot at one of his other two visits.

He said he and receivers coach Michael Smith are talking about a July 24 unofficial visit.

Jackson knows Razorback freshmen Henre Toliver and Dwayne Eugene. He has recorded times of 10.36 seconds in the 100 meters and 21.4 in the 200. He wants to run track in college.

Oklahoma State cornerback commitment Jaylon Lane of Nacogdoches, Texas said Arkansas defense back coach Clay Jennings has been in contact with him on Twitter. He said right now he's still strongly committed to the Cowboys. No plans to visit any other schools. I wouldn't totally close the door on Lane.

North Little Rock safety Tyler Phillips said his offer from Campbell University is a result of his SPARQ performance at The Opening. He said the coach saw him on TV and looked at his video and that led to an offer. California is also starting to show interest.
