Stacy Lewis shot a 1-under 71 and is tied for sixth place after one round of play at the Women's British Open.

Coming off of a win at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship two weeks ago, the former Arkansas golfer made three bogeys and four birdies in her first round at the Royal Birkdale Country Club Thursday.

She is three shots off the lead, which is held by Ayako Uehara, the No. 125 player in the world. After bogeying the first hole, Uehara made five birdies, including one on the 18th hole, en route to a 4-under 68.

Lewis is the world's top-ranked female golfer and won the British Open last year.
