Arkansas football media guide released

Arkansas' 2014 football media guide features a retro cover that pays homage to the 1964 national championship team.

Arkansas released its 2014 football media guide Monday at the SEC Media Days in Hoover, Ala.

The roster in the media guide does not include wide receiver D'Arthur Cowan and cornerback Chris Murphy.

Head coach Bret Bielema announced on Sports Talk with Bo Mattingly July 3 that Cowan was released from the team, while Murphy did not return to Fayetteville for summer workouts after going home at the end of the spring semester.

The roster lists Cordale Boyd as a defensive lineman, as well. The redshirt sophomore appeared in nine games as an offensive lineman in 2013.

The guide features a cover that pays homage to the 1964 national championship team, as the senior class elected to replicate the cover of the 1964 media guide.

This season will be the 50th anniversary of the Razorbacks winning the national title awarded by the Football Writers Association of America and The Helms Athletic Foundation.

It is also the first media guide cover in the country to utilize the Reveal by EBSCO Media app, which will allow fans to scan it for updated information, interviews and highlight videos throughout the season.
