— Dumas tight end Will Gragg released an updated top six last week while at The Opening at Nike Headquarters.

“I don’t even have to speak on them,” said Gragg of Arkansas. “They’re the hometown school. Everybody loves the Razorbacks, including me. So people should’ve known they would make the cut.”

Minus the Hogs, Gragg plans to officially visit his other top schools. He recently an unofficial trip to Baton Rouge.

“I went down there a couple of weeks ago,” Gragg said. “I like coach (Steve) Ensminger. He’s doing a real nice job with the tight ends. He’s got DeSean Smith and he had (Jacob) Hester back in the day, so they’re building something special down there.”

The Crimson Tide’s success in the SEC and national level intrigues Gragg.

“Alabama, they’re Alabama,” Gragg said. “I like coach (Billy) Napier. He’s doing a real good job of recruiting me. He’s putting forth the effort. I like the things O.J. (Howard) is doing and they got Hale Hentges down there. He and I talked a couple of times. He wants me down there as bad as coach Napier does. So that’s a good thing.”

He visited Texas earlier this year.

“I met with the offensive coordinator for abut 45 minutes,” Gragg said. “He showed me film on what they did at Louisville and they way they were working the seams and working the first down stuff. Stuff I do and plus that really intrigued me and plus I like the history of Texas.”

Gragg is a fan of Ole Miss Coach Hugh Freeze.

“Coach Freeze, I like that man,” Gragg said. “He’s a real down to earth type of guy. Ingram had a great year, he missed a couple of games. I like the things they’re going to do down there. They’re building a winning program.”

The Cardinals and Coach Bobby Petrino’s offense is attractive.

I like the way Petrino uses the offense,” Gragg said. “He has a history of putting players in the league. He did it with someone at every position. I’ve seen it firsthand.”
