Nation's top punter commits to Hogs

Punter Blake Johnson.

Punter Blake Johnson has committed to Arkansas.

He and his family visited Fayetteville on Thursday before leaving for a visit to LSU.

Johnson, 6-1, 190, of Los Alamitos, Calif., is rated the No. 1 punter in the nation by Chris Sailer Kicking and had scholarship offers from Oregon State, Duke and Colorado.

LSU asked him to walk-on because of limited scholarships.

Johnson said the coaching staff and the people of Fayetteville helped sway him.

He said Coach Bret Bielema, defensive line and specialists coach Rory Segrest and special teams quality control coach Tanner Burns were key in his decision.
