Agim visits Arkansas again

— Hope junior defensive end McTelvin Agim visited Arkansas for the fifth time when he made the trip to Fayetteville on Thursday for the Elite Camp.

Continuing to build upon his relationship with the Razorback coaches was one of the goals of the visit.

“It is a good relationship,” said Agim, who didn’t work out at the camp. “They’re cool people, good to be around so I just want to keep building that so when I decide on my college I will know exactly which one I want to go to.”

Agim, 6-3, 258, 4.68 seconds in the 40 yard dash, has nine scholarship offers from Arkansas, Alabama, Auburn, Stanford, Ole Miss, Clemson, Oklahoma and others. ESPN rates him the No. 11 defensive end and the No. 160 overall prospect in the nation. Video highlights CLICK HERE

He’s been busy checking out college campuses.

“I have been able to see Arkansas, Auburn, Alabama, Oklahoma, Ole Miss,” said Agim, who visited Stanford on Saturday. “I was at a Baylor camp in Marshall (Texas) and I visited with the coaches.”

He recorded 77 tackles, 32 tackles for loss and 16 sacks this past season and was named the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Sophomore Defensive Player of the Year. The Hogs were the first school to offer.

“They offered before any other school showed any interest, before any other school had even known about me,” Agim said. “They are sticking with me and I like that about them.”

The native Texan said there’s no shortage of people suggesting where he should attend college.

“There are a lot of people thinking I should go to Arkansas seeing as how I go to school in Arkansas,” Agim said. “But there are a lot of people in Texas want me to come back to Texas because I was born and raised in Texas.”

He plans to listen to a small group of people when it’s time to make his decision.

“I am just trying to stay focused and keep my circle small,” he said. “When I get to making a decision, I am just going to pray about it and let God decide where I should go.”

Agim is looking to narrow his list of schools after his junior season.

“I think I’ll have a good perception of where I should go,” he said.

He weighed in at 247 pounds at the Nike Football Training Camp in early April. He’s added 11 pounds by working out and eating better.

“I am trying to give up chips, sodas and trying to drink water,” Agim said. “Drink Gatorade, but not too much Gatorade. Trying to eat a salad every once in awhile. Trying to eat fruits. I did not know that fruits were that important. I am trying to eat potatoes at every meal, but trying not to eat too many foods that are fried. Like eat baked chicken or something like that.”

Agim plans to talk to his mother, counselors and coaches about the possibility of enrolling early in college.

“I am thinking about graduating early,” Agim said. “I don't know if that is official yet. But if I graduate early, I would leave in December.”
