Flowers named to pair of ESPN lists

Arkansas defensive end Trey Flowers pressures Rutgers quarterback Gary Nova during a Sept. 21, 2013 game at High Point Solutions Stadium in Piscataway, N.J.

Arkansas' Trey Flowers was named to a pair of lists on ESPN.com Monday.

The senior defensive end was ranked as the 86th best player in the country, tied with Ole Miss safety Cody Prewitt and Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott and defensive lineman Chris Jones.

The ranking was based on a panel of 32 ESPN college football writers and editors, who rated players on a 1-10 scale. Only numbers 81-100 have been released and six of the 20 players are from the SEC.

Flowers was also rated as the No. 25 player in the SEC on ESPN.com's SEC blog. Only numbers 21-25 have been released so far.

In three years with the Razorbacks, Flowers has collected 12 sacks and 32 tackles for loss.

The honors are not the first for the defensive end this summer. He was also named to the Bednarik Award, Nagurski Trophy and Lombardi Award watch lists and was named to the preseason All-SEC second team as voted on by the media at SEC Media Days in Hoover, Ala.
