Diamond Hogs getting new PA announcer

— Arkansas is in the market for a new public address announcer for its home baseball games.

Pat Kelly has resigned his post as the Baum Stadium public address announcer. Kelly, who is moving away, spent the last seven seasons in the capacity after taking over for the late Larry Shank beginning with the 2008 season.

"We need to get the right guy," Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn said Thursday. "We need the energy person, the voice, the enthusiasm because we need to get this stadium rolling. We need to get it rocking out there and energy, and that helps if you can get the right stadium person. I appreciate the effort of all of those guys.

"Hopefully there's somebody in this area that wants to do it."

In addition to a new public address announcer, the Diamond Hogs will also have a new play-by-play voice next year. Chuck Barrett announced earlier this summer he was stepping down as the team's radio announcer after 23 seasons.
