BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Baton Rouge police have arrested LSU safety Jalen Mills on a second-degree battery warrant stemming from a May 4 incident in which he allegedly punched a woman.

The Advocate reports the 20-year-old Mills was booked Wednesday into Parish Prison on second-degree battery.

LSU sports spokesman Michael Bonnette says Mills is suspended indefinitely from the football team.

Mills has started all 26 games in his LSU career, and he ranked third on the roster last season with 67 tackles and notched three interceptions last season.

Mills, who also was a freshman All-American, was moved to safety late last season as LSU tried to season a pair of freshmen cornerbacks in Tre'Davious White and Rashard Robinson.
