Jalin Barnett visit update

Highly regarded offensive lineman Jalin Barnett arrived at Arkansas about 10 this morning and left about 6:15.

He said the entire coaching staff greeted him at the door and the whole day was planned out. He called it a great visit and felt very wanted.

Barnett, 6-31/3, 305 pounds of Lawton, Okla. has more than 50 scholarship offers, including Arkansas, Alabama, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Auburn, Stanford and Tennessee. He was told the Hogs will lose two guards after this season and he could come in and start.

He was able to meet the several starters on the offensive line and heard good things about the Hogs.

Barnett said he'll definitely take an official visit to Arkansas. He said he might attend the first game in Fayetteville. He visited with Lawton's offensive cooridantor. He wants to bring his grandparents back with him.

He said he and offensive line coach Sam Pittman had a great time hanging out. Coach Bret Bielema impressed during their meeting and talked about life after college.

The facilities were outstanding, according to Barnett.

ESPN rates him the No. 1 offensive guard in the nation.
