Another Sprinkle heading to the Hill?

— White Hall defensive end-tight end Daniel Sprinkle arrived Sunday afternoon on a mission to earn a scholarship offer from Arkansas during the three-day camp.

His testing and play have him in strong consideration for the coveted offer.

Sprinkle, 6-4, 225, recorded 4.23 seconds in the pro-shuttle and did the 40 in 4.6 seconds during testing Monday morning. Video highlights CLICK HERE

“I thought it went good,” Sprinkle said. “I ran a 4.6. I was glad to see that. I’m just trying to keep working.”

Soon after the testing, he worked at tight end under the eyes of offensive coordinator Jim Chaney and tight ends coach Barry Lunney. He then worked with defensive coordinator Robb Smith and defensive line coach Rory Segrest as a defensive end.

The first two day's of workouts brought on some cramping.

“I think that’s what got me,” Sprinkle said. “I was just trying to do the best I could. They were telling me I was a doing a good job and just keep working.”

Sprinkle recorded 24 receptions for 399 yards and had 71 tackles, 6 sacks and 14 tackles for loss last year. He unsure which position is the best fit.

“I don’t know, I think it’s even race between both of them,” Sprinkle said.

He’ll be joyful should get get notification of an offer, but may not commit immediately.

“I would be glad, I’ve worked hard and just see my hard work pay off.” Sprinkle said. “I would go home to my parents and it’s still soon.”

His brother, Hog tight end Jeremy watched him during Monday’s camp. The oldest Sprinkle brother, Aaron attended OBU and is considered a 2015 NFL prospect as an offensive guard.

“We always had somebody to play catch with or run routes with outside in the yard,” Daniel Sprinkle said. “I think that’s been instrumental in helping us get to where we’re at.”
