Cappelen wins pro debut

In his first professional event, Sebastian Cappelen won the Air Capital Classic on Sunday at Crestview Country Club in Wichita, Kan.

The four-time All-American shot a 4-under 66 in the final round to improve to 18-under in the tournament and beat Matt Weibring by one stroke.

Weibring birdied his final two holes to put pressure on him, but Cappelen birdied the 16th and 17th holes before making par on the 18th hole to clinch the victory.

Cappelen, who recently finished his senior season with the Razorbacks and qualified for the event Monday, earned $108,000 and a spot on the Web.com Tour through the 2015 season win the win.

He is only the 14th golfer in tour history to win his debut tournament on the Web.com Tour, a developmental tour for the PGA Tour. He is also the first golfer from Denmark to win on the tour.

The former Arkansas golfer will play in the United Leasing Championship in Newburgh, Ind., next week.
