Williams looking to recruit other Texans

Rawleigh Williams III became Arkansas' 10th commitment for the class of 2015 in June.

Running back Rawleigh Williams is ready recruit and add other Texans to the Razorback program after pledging to the Hogs on Saturday. He described his sales pitch.

“The way they sold it to me,” said William of the Arkansas coaching staff. “The bigger picture, athletically, academically and socially. Just by showing them what set it apart for me.”

His father was sold on the Hogs and shortly afterwards his mother was too.

“I talked to my mom on the way home and we kind of talked to her about everything that happened,” Williams said. “She was excited. We talked about it all week since then and they just thought nothing but positive things like I do.

Despite missing three games due to an ankle injury, he rushed 143 times for 767 yards, 7 touchdowns and had 26 receptions for 269 yards and a touchdown as a junior.

Williams and the Arkansas offense is a good match.

“It’s awesome, because I really feel like I can thrive in that offense,” Williams said. “It’s my style and I feel like I can fit right in.”

Williams, who has a 3.8 grade point average, is planning to major in engineering.
