Wednesday recruiting tidbits

Defensive end Jeremiah Ledbetter of Hutchinson Community College in Kansas is expected to arrive about noon today for the start of his official visit. He visited the Hogs earlier in the spring.

Running back Nyheim Hines, 5-9, 187, 4.34 of Garner, North Carolina said he has interest in Arkansas, but wants to learn more about the program after receiving an offer about two weeks ago. He said he was a big fan of Darren McFadden and Felix Jones.

Hines has a 3.9 grade point average and is considering engineering or communication as possible majors.

He has best of 10.52 seconds in the 100 meters, 21.49 in the 200 and 14.27 in the 110 hurdles. He also runs the 4x100. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Junior linebacker Jordan Carmouche, 6-1, 200, 4.60 of Manvel, Texas now has two offers after receiving one from the Hogs on Monday. He attended the Hogs' Elite Camp on Thursday.

Carmouche said he met with Coach Bret Bielema after the camp and was told he impressed the coaches. He said Bielema told him they liked his 40 time at the camp. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Junior athlete D'Eriq King of Manvel, Texas has six offers, including Baylor, Michigan State, Louisville and Clemson. He spoke to Carmouche and heard a lot of great things about Arkansas.

A little late, but Camden Fairview cornerback Byron Keaton put on one of the best performances among the defensive backs at the Hogs' camp on Thursday. He was the only cornerback that was able to stay close to Smackover junior receiver Jordan Jones during the one-on-ones.

The summer dead period for college football begins on June 30 and ends July 13. Prospects are not allowed to visit a college campus during the two weeks.

Arkansas women's basketball coach Jimmy Dykes extended an offer to 2018 guard Christyn Williams, 5-9 of Central Ark Christian. She plays spring and summer basketball for Arkansas Banshees. The offer is her first.

Springdale point guard Tereke Eckwood received an offer from Southeast Missouri State on Monday. He also has offers from Arkansas Tech and UA- Fort Smith.

Running back Karan Higdon, 5-9, 190, 4.46 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Sarasota, (Fla.) Riverview said he's still on for a July visit to Arkansas. He harped to visit earlier this month. He has offers from Arkansas, South Florida, Iowa, Kentucky, Tennessee, Wake Forest and others. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Prairie Grove junior tight end Dylan Soehner, 6-7, 260 received an invite to attend Penn State's camp. He received the invite two days before the start of the camp. He attended the Monday session of Arkansas' three-day camp last week. He has offers from La. Tech and Arkansas State. Video highlights CLICK HERE
