Arkansas hosted shooting guard Curran Scott for an unofficial visit on Thursday and the Hogs plan to keep an eye on him.
Scott, 6-4, 193 pounds of Edmond (Okla.) Santa Fe has a scholarship offer from Central Arkansas and is drawing interest from Arkansas, Nebraska, Missouri, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and Tulsa.
“Went well,” said Scott of the Arkansas visit. “Played with the guys. They didn’t offer, but I think they are close to one. They just want to see me in the July live period.”
Scott, who plays for Nike Team Texas in the spring and summer, averaged 22.1 points, 3 assists and 6.3 rebounds while shooting 49 percent from the field and 33 percent from beyond the three-point line in high school this past season.
Future150.com rates Scott the No. 31 shooting guard and the No. 91 overall prospect in the nation.
Meeting Coach Mike Anderson and the staff along with playing with the current Hogs were highlights of the day.
“it was good to build a relationship with them and see how they do things and how hard they work everyday,” Scott said. “Definitely something I would like to be apart of. And getting a chance to play with the guys was good for me and I played well and competed too, I know I can play on this level soon.”
He was able to take a tour of Bud Walton arena and explore the practice facility under construction.
“I think the arena is great and there’s so much history in there and the new facility was good,” Scott said. “I’ll be excited to see it when it is done. Nice to see them continuing to expand and improve the facilities even more.”
