Ledbetter visit update

Arkansas is recruiting Jeremiah Ledbetter from Hutchinson Community College.

Junior college defensive end Jeremiah Ledbetter said his officail visit to Arkansas has made his decision tougher. He arrived on Wednesday and is leaving at noon.

He said the trip was very impressive and the Hogs showed him a good time.

Ledbetter, 6-4, 265 pounds, 4.72 seconds in the 40-yard dash, of Hutchinson Community College in Kansas and has scholarship offers from several schools, including Arkansas, Florida, Georgia and Miami.

He visited Fayetteville for a spring scrimmage, but on this trip, Ledbetter was able to experience the passion of the fan base and that was something that stood out.

He and his parents had dinner at Coach Bret Bielema's house last night.

Learning of the Hog Call was one of the more enjoyable things of the trip. Ledbetter said the visit helped Arkansas' chances of gaining a commitment from him, but he wants to make his official visit to Florida during the season and is looking to have a decision about a week after that visit.

His parents, Weldon and Sharon are very much on board should their son become a Razorback. Both are very impressed with the coaching staff and the academic support and feel like Jeremiah would be in good hands.

Mr. Ledbetter said Oklahoma State did a great job in recruiting, but Arkansas has taken it to another level. He believes Bielema and the staff have a genuine interest in Jeremiah and want him to be a part of the program.

Sharon initially thought Arkansas was too far away, but is now comfortable with the thought of Jeremiah coming to Fayetteville. She was impressed the coaching staff and the players. Her trust in the coaching staff is very strong.

Ledbetter made an unofficial visit to Miami on Monday.
