Tuesday recruiting tidbits

Magnolia defensive end Immanuel Turner, 6-3, 230 pounds is a junior to keep an eye on. He's receiving interest from Arkansas and others.

Panthers Coach John Panter said Turner played at 205 pounds last season and has added 25 pounds in the offseason. Panter said Turner has gone from a 190 bench press to a 260 bench press since he arrived last year after serving as the defensive coordinator at El Dorado.

He's also increased his power clean from 225 to 305. Ole Miss, Arkansas State and Louisiana Tech are also showing interest. Hog tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. is expected to visit the school in the near future.

Hope sophomore defensive end McTelvin Agim power cleaned 315 pounds on Tuesday. His teammate and offensive lineman Kadarius Rowe power cleaned 265. Rowe doesn't turn 16 until Sept. Ole Miss and Arkansas State will visit the school today.

Star City sophomore offensive and defensive lineman Austin Capps, who has a football offer from Arkansas, is batting .438 with 2 home runs, 7 doubles and .605 slugging percentage.

Capps, 6-3, 305 is also 8 of 8 on stolen bases. Alabama visited the school last week.

Former White Hall running back and linebacker Tim Cook, who attends Eastern Arizona College, received an offer from Colorado State on Monday. He now has 11 offers, including Wisconsin, Louisville, California, Arizona and others. Arkansas is showing interest.

Tight end Will Gragg of Pine Bluff received an offer from Duke on Monday. The Blue Devils offer is his 40th.

Ole Miss visited Prairie Grove on Monday to check on tight end Dylan Soehner, who's one of the best 2016 in-state prospects. He plans to attend camps at Arkansas and several others.

Sophomore running back Tre Turner, 5-10 189, 4.38 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of New Orleans, (La.) Holy Cross said he plans to visit Arkansas after his school's spring practice is completed. He reports 11 scholarship offers, including Arkansas, Ole Miss, Arizona State, Missouri, Tulane and Houston.

Arkansas tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. visited several schools, including Conway and Dover on Monday.

Arkansas defensive end commitment Daytrieon Dean of Fort Smith Northside now has maxes of 310 on the bench press, 425 squat and 270 on the power clean. He's expecting Arkansas, Alabama, Oklahoma State and Mississippi State to visit the school this week.

Ole Miss and Louisiana-Monroe visited Bentonville on Monday to check on quarterback Kasey Ford and offensive lineman Ean Pfeifer.

Ole Miss, Louisiana-Monroe and UCA visited Fayetteville on Monday. Alabama is expected to visit on Friday.

Arkansas and Texas is expected to visit Wynne to check on quarterback Ross Trail. Oklahoma State is expected to visit laster in the week. Ole Miss previously visited.

Defensive back Roney Elam, 6-3, 170 of Newton, Texas said he's looking to learn more about Arkansas after the Hogs offered him last week. He has more than 10 offers, including Texas, LSU, Texas A&M, Oklahoma and Alabama.

He said Texas, Texas A&M and Oklahoma are currently standing out.

North Little Rock safety Tyler Phillips said he received direct messages from Lunney after his nation's leading SPARQ rating on Saturday. A coach from Yale and La-Monroe also sent messages.

Phillips said he's been in constant contact with Ohio State defensive coordinator Chris Ash. He visited the Buckeyes for their spring game.

Army visited Bryant on Monday and UCA will visit the school today.

Sophomore defensive end McTelvin Agim of Hope received an offer from Arkansas State this morning. He also has offers from Arkansas, Clemson, Oklahoma, Baylor and Ole Miss.

Oregon and Notre Dame are now showing interest in highly regarded sophomore defensive end McTelvin Agim of Hope.

Highland receiver Deon Stewart, an Arkansas commitment, has won the triple jump in today's Class 4A state meet with a jump of 45-11. The jump is a new state record for 4A.

He's also particpating in the long jump, 100 meters, 200, 4x100 and 4 x400.

Arkansas quarterback commitment Ty Storey plans to enroll in January and participate in next year's spring practice.

Springdale Har-Ber defensive lineman Rickey Dobbins has received an offer from Tulsa, according to Coach Chris Wood. Ole Miss, Arkansas State and Louisiana-Monroe have visited the school to check on Dobbins.

Arkansas running backs coach Joel Thomas visited Coppell High School in Texas to check on offensive lineman Connor Williams today. Recently received an offer from the Hogs and has about 15 offers.

He plans to visit Arkansas tis summer. He attended the Hogs' spring game.

Highland athlete Avery Johnson is the Class 4A long jump champ after going 21-111/2. Deon Stewart finishes second with a 21-10.

Notre Dame is showing good amount of interest in North Little Rock athlete D.J. Brown. The Fighting Irish will visit the school May 19. Arizona State, Vanderbilt and San Diego State also plan to visit the school.
