Arkansas adds UTEP for 2015

Arkansas running back Broderick Green is pulled down by UTEP defenders on a carry during the fourth quarter on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville.

— Arkansas will host UTEP to open the 2015 football season, according to a report.

The teams are scheduled to play Sept. 5, 2015 at Razorback Stadium. FBSschedules.com first reported the news Thursday after filing an open records request at UTEP.

Arkansas will reportedly pay the Conference-USA school $900,000 for the game. The Razorbacks last played the Miners in 2010, winning 58-21 in Fayetteville.

UTEP is the third known nonconference opponent for Arkansas in 2015. The Razorbacks are scheduled to host Toledo on Sept. 12 that year and host Texas Tech on Sept. 19.

Arkansas will add one more nonconference game that season after the Southeastern Conference voted to continue playing eight league games last month.

In addition to the 2015 opponents, Arkansas has known upcoming nonconference games against TCU (2016-17), Louisiana Tech (2016), Michigan (2018-19) and Texas (2021).
