FAYETTEVILLE -- Arkansas will have four newly drafted players and a handful of free agents participating in NFL mini-camps across the country this week.
The Razorbacks had four players taken in the seven-round NFL Draft for the third consecutive year over the weekend.
Center Travis Swanson was the first Arkansas player taken, at No. 76 overall in the third round by the Detroit Lions. Swanson's position coach in Detroit will be Jeremiah Washburn, a former Razorback offensive lineman.
Defensive end Chris Smith was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the 159th pick in the fifth round, landing with the coaching staff for which he worked in the Senior Bowl. The Jaguars would like to keep Smith, who went through outside linebacker drills during his pro day workout at Arkansas and was considered an up or down edge player, as a defensive end.
Fullback Kiero Small and kicker Zach Hocker, taken on consecutive picks, Nos. 227 and 228, in the seventh round, went to the Seattle Seahawks and the Washington Redskins, respectively.
The Razorbacks' free-agent signings since Saturday's completion of the draft include receiver Javontee Herndon to the San Diego Chargers, offensive tackle David Hurd to the Miami Dolphins, and defensive tackle Robert Thomas to the Redskins. Former Razorback Austin Flynn was signed by the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent.
