Tuesday recruiting tidbits

Safety Kahlil Haughton said he doesn't have a date set, but will probably visit Arkansas in early June. He said he and defensive backs coach Clay Jennings spoke last week.

Haughton, 6-2, 180, 4.44, of Waco, (Texas) Midway has 23 scholarship offers from schools like Arkansas, Oklahoma,TCU, Baylor, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and Duke. He had a prior relaltionship with defensive backs coach Clay Jennings while he was at TCU.

Arkansas State watched Fayetteville practice on Monday. Texas plans to be at the school on Wednesday to watch tight end C.J. O'Grady practice.

Arkansas tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. visited Nashville on Monday to watch the receiver La'Michael Pettway and the Scrappers practice. Vanderbilt will be at the school on Friday and it appears Louisville will visit later in the week.

Alabama, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Louisville are expected to be at the school next week. The Hogs will be back that last week in May.

Receiver Ryan Newsome, 5-9, 170, 4.35 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Aledo, Texas recorded a 10.50 time in the 100 meters last week and finished second in the state. He's planning to visit the Hogs.

He has more than 20 scholarship offers, including Oklahoma, Baylor, Oregon, Texas, Notre Dame, Nebraska and Texas Tech.

Forward Juwan Morgan, 6-8, 220 pounds, of Waynesville, Mo. said he talks to almost the entire at Arkansas once to twice a week. He's expected to get an offer from the Hogs in the neater future.

He was named the Ozark Conference’s player of the year and was named to the Class 5 all-state team after leading his team to a 25-2 record.

Pine Bluff tight end Will Gragg reports running a 4.74 time in the 40 during testing on Monday.

As reported in Sunday's Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Arkansas has set the recruiting areas for the coaching staff.

Offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Jim Chaney will recruit Missouri and the metro areas of St. Louis and Kansas City. He will also scout quarterbacks across the nation.

Defensive coordinator Robb Smith will have some schools in Atlanta and the west side of Florida.

Offensive line coach Sam Pittman has Oklahoma and Kansas, including the junior colleges in the Jayhawk state. He travel nationally to see O-line prospects.

Senior associate head coach and linebackers coach Randy Shannon will recruit south Florida up to the central part of the state along with parts of Atlanta and south Georgia.

Defensive line coach Rory Segrest has east Texas and Atlanta along with areas in Alabama.

Defensive backs coach Clay Jennings will have some of Dallas, mainly below I-20 and central Texas all the way to north of I-10 of Houston.

Receivers coach Michael Smith will recruit Louisiana and the inside loop down to I-20 in the Dallas and some east Dallas.

Running backs coach Joel Thomas has outside the loop north in Dallas and he has south Houston below I-10.

Tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. will only recruit Arkansas because the strong 2015 and 2016 classes after having the Natural state and east Texas last year.

Later around in the fall, Arkansas will bring online a website similar to thisisarkansasfootball.com. It will have a virtual tour of the facilities like the old sire but will have some new features.
