Elite prospect plans Arkansas visit

Jalin Barnett, the nation's No. 1 rated offensive guard, is a major recruit for the Hogs.

Offensive guard Jalin Barnett, who's rated the No. 1 offensive guard prospect in the nation by ESPN, plans to visit Arkansas next month. ESPN rates him the No. 36 overall prospect.

Barnett, 6-31/2, 305 pounds of Lawton, Okla. has more than 50 offers from schools like Arkansas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Alabama, Auburn, Stanford, Tennessee and others. He said he'll visit the Hogs on June 13. He's also looking to visit Tennessee in the summer.

He has visited Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech.

Barnett said he plans to narrow his list around midseason and take all five of his official visits. He said the Hogs stand a great chance to get an official visit.

Lawton Coach Randy Breeze said offensive line coach Sam Pittman visited the school and has made everyone Razorback fans. He's very impressed with Pittman.

He said Barnett had a big smile when he saw Pittman from a distance during a visit to the school.

Barnett, who wears a size 17 shoe, has a 3.8 grade point average. Video highlights CLICK HERE
