Houston Astros pitcher Dallas Keuchel won the American League Gold Glove Award on Tuesday.

Keuchel became the first Astros pitcher to ever win the award, which recognizes baseball's best defensive player at his position. Keuchel beat out the Blue Jays' Mark Beuhrle and the Mariners' Felix Hernandez for the award.

"Humbled and extremely blessed to be a Gold Glove winner!" Keuchel tweeted. "2014 can't possibly get any better! Thank you for all the support this past season!"

Keuchel is coming off the best season of his professional career. He went 12-9 with a 2.93 earned run average in 29 starts this season for the Astros. His five complete games led the American League.

In 200 innings, Keuchel's fielding percentage was .985 and he committed only one error.
