Merrick, 6-5, 310 pounds, 5.21 seconds in the 40-yard dash, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla. has only played two years of football after giving up basketball to focus on the gridiron.
He has more than 20 offers from schools like Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Michigan State.
