Monday recruiting tidbits

Arkansas director of recruiting E.K. Franks said the win over LSU will help the Hogs in recruiting Louisiana. Expect the Hogs to try and take full advantage of the victory in the bordering state.

He said the phones have been ringing and there's been a lot of direct messaging on Twitter between recruits and coaches since the win.

The calls from prospects have been from Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. He said recruits have been impressed with the Hogs playing this season, but the win signaled the Razorbacks have made the next step.

He said several high schools coaches have text him congratulations.

Franks sad Arkansas hosted about 64 recruits, including four official visitors.

As reported on Wednesday, highly recruited junior tight end Kaden Smith, 6-5, 235, 4.8 of Flower Mound, (Texas) Marcus planned to visit Arkansas for the LSU game.

The highlight of the trip was getting to meet the coaching staff. He said the coaches seemed to great to the players. He didn't feel like the atmosphere was uptight.

Smith said the tight end play was impressive and likes the number of touches the tight ends get.

He said shortly before the game, Coach Bret Bielema came over and told him he had an offer. He has approximately 40 or so offers.

Arkansas defensive line commit Daytrieon Dean of Ft. Smith Northside recorded 8 tackles and a sack while junior linebacker Deontre Hardwick of Ft. Smith Northside had 10 tackles and an interception vs. LR Catholic. Junior cornerback Kiondre Thomas had 5 tackles and an interception.

Junior running back Damarea Crockett of Little Rock Christian has 1,250 yards rushing, 240 receiving yards and 1,500 all purpose yards in eight games this season.
