The Recruiting Guy

Recruits react to Hogs' victory over Rebs

Arkansas running back commitment Rawleigh Williams sports a Hog jersey during his June visit.

Several Arkansas recruits sent comments via text message about Arkansas' 30-0 shutout of Ole Miss at Reynolds Razorback Stadium on Saturday.

Cornerback Jeremiah Dinson of Miami American:

"Arkansas played really big against Ole Miss. The defense was swarming to the ball. I predicted the upset before they game started. Arkansas competes very well and is on the rise."

Safety Kahlil Haughton of Waco (Texas), Midway:

"That was a huge win for Arkansas! Especially with a shutout! I talked to him the other night and he was breaking down their offense for me and their gameplan. He spoke with a lot of confidence and knew they had a chance to win and they executed. Definitely shows he knows what he's doing and putting his players in the right positions to make plays."

Running back Rawleigh Williams of Dallas Bishop Lynch:

"Huge win! I love Arkansas and everything coach B is doing in his program. it definitely is starting to show on the field. They've learned how to win and are about to be hard to stop."

Linebacker James King of Miami Washington:

"Arkansas last two shutouts really impress me because I just told Coach Shannon Arkansas needs to win more. But I wasn't expecting two back to back shutouts against great teams/programs like LSU and Old Miss. That really made me reconsider about Arkansas."

Junior defensive back Kristian Fulton of Metairie, (La.) Rummel

"I didn't really get a chance to watch the game because we played around the same time but it looked like they did good, obviously they're a good football team an beat a good football team."

Linebacker Rayshad Jackson of Miami Norland:

"Domination on both sides of the ball...Arkansas was sharp on defense and put the offense in great field position against Ole Miss...also beating a top ten is a head turner for recruits in looking at Arkansas."

Junior receiver Isaiah Graham of Bastrop, La.:

"It was one of the best games they played all year. I said 28-3 but 30-0 is better."

Athlete La'Michael Pettway of Nashville:

"That game was a shocker.. Arkansas handled coming off of a huge conference game real well.. Friday pre game my coach talked about "watch the fake" talking about in situations do teams or even people prove who they really are with actions or just talk about who they are without the actions.. and all that being said Arkansas came out took care of business and proved what they are and can be. coming off a huge win from last week.. The players played hard for there seniors and the seniors had a heck of a game aswell an you saw the end results."

Junior running back Elijah Holyfield of College Park, (Ga.) Woodward Academy;

"It was great to see. Really excited to see them rolling now."

Running back Charles West of Coppell, Texas;

"Great Win. Team is living up to their potential."

Junior athlete T.J. Hammonds of Pulaski Robinson:

"I thought it was a very well played all around game! The defense is rolling right now! I thought the crowd was great!! I thought Austin allen stepped in and stepped up. The redzone defense was unbelievable. You could tell the shutout meant something to them! And they finished and got it! Great win!"

Junior running back Devin White of Springhill (La.) North Webster:

"It was a real good game. I had a feeling...I didn't think it would be that bad but I had a feeling Arkansas was going to pull it out because they were still riding off the big win over LSU. All season long I've been telling everybody that Arkansas is good but they're not a good closer yet. I think they're realizing how to close games."

Tight end Will Gragg of Dumas:

"We've been expecting this turn around, or else we wouldn't have jumped on board. Everybody else is surprised, we're not surprised."

Junior defensive end McTelvin Agim of Hope:

"I think the last game they play this season is building for the bowl game since they're eligible now and both of those games are building towards next season."

Junior linebacker Jordan Carmouche of Manvel, Texas:

"They were balling...Great defense again and great offense."

Junior safety Calvin Bundage of Edmond, Okla. Santa Fe:

"i enjoyed the game and you can tell there's alot of Razorback pride. The players played hard and fast."
