The RECRUITING GUY

Froholdt calls visit "great"

Hjalte Froholdt

— Arkansas defensive line commitment Hjalte Froholdt made a return trip for the Ole Miss game over the weekend for an official visit after visiting earlier in the season.

"It was great," Froholdt said. "I saw all the coaches and talked some academics. The game was great. I talked a little bit with the players, just overall it was a great visit."

Froholdt, 6-5, 290, played for Bradenton (Fla. ) IMG Academy and is the No. 13 defensive lineman, the No. 97 overall prospect in the nation by ESPN. Highly recruited offensive lineman Jalen Merrick also officially visited during the weekend.

His mother, Lisa kept up with the game in Denmark and was happy with the outcome along with other family members.

“She didn’t get to see the game because it was hard to connect in Denmark, but she followed by box score and play-by-play.,” Froholdt said. “They’re very excited. All of them.”

Froholdt, who committed to the Hogs about a year ago after Arkansas had just finished a 3-9 season, said he never doubted Coach Bret Bielema and the Razorbacks.

“It’s not like all the five-star recruits and everything, but still the coaches are so amazing and they really make them a great team,” said Froholdt, who will enroll at Arkansas in Jan. “You could see yesterday, we beat the No. 8 team in the nation, Ole Miss 30-0. The defense is a bunch of underclassmen, so it’s just a great team and I can’t wait to be a part of it.”

He and Merrick were recognized by Hog fans during the visit.

“It was pretty cool, I guess that’s the way it is being a Razorback,” Froholdt said.

Merrick enjoyed the game despite the cool, rainy conditions.

“He was like “Even tough it was cold at the game I started jumping and yelling”,” Froholdt said. “So I think he really had a great visit here. I think Arkansas is really one of the top ones now..We gave him all the food he needed and all the attention he needed so I think he's probably going to come here."
