FAYETTEVILLE — Fayetteville quarterback Taylor Powell is a promising sophomore prospect with a big upside.
He completed 10 of 18 passes for 161 yards and a touchdown in the Bulldogs' 49-21 victory over Springdale.
Powell, 6-1, 190 broke the passing records of Arkansas quarterbacks Brandon and Austin Allen at Woodland junior high school.
He impressed during Arkansas'' June camp with a strong, accurate arm and poise.
For the season, Powell has completed 62 of 121 passes for 870 yards and 8 touchdowns while suffering 3 interceptions.
